One tap per expense, sync through your own Google Drive or Dropbox
Very quick entry (just the amount), multiple currencies, a spending chart, custom categories, recurring records, passcode, and sync through your own Google Drive or Dropbox, also with a partner.
A simple log of expenses and income with weekly, monthly or yearly periods, an optional budget that carries over, editable categories and charts. Repeating transactions and export need the Pro Upgrade.
If privacy is the reason, look at where the data ends up: Tuppence keeps it on the device and in your iCloud without an account, Monefy syncs through your own Google Drive or Dropbox, Goodbudget backs it up to its website so you can share it. If you want a method, Goodbudget (envelopes) and EveryDollar (zero-based) give you one for free.
Frequently asked questions
Why use a budget app without bank linking?
You don't share bank credentials with a third party, you don't depend on a connection that can break, and typing each expense makes you notice it. The trade-off is a few seconds per spend.
Which manual budget app is free?
Goodbudget and EveryDollar have free manual plans, Monefy is free to start, Money Manager and Spending Tracker are free with ads. Tuppence is free for logging spending and one overall budget, with no ads.
Can I import my bank's CSV without linking the bank?
In Tuppence, yes: it imports CSV files and maps the columns, and suggests which charges repeat. Nothing connects to the bank itself.
